Thoughts on the Problem of Pain and the Purpose of Passions

have you thought of becoming a "Christian Hedonist" or read any of Piper's famous "desiring god" classics?

I really like Piper, actually, and it's funny that you bring him up. I lead a "Life Group" weekly Bible study at church, and our next series is based on Piper's Don't Waste Your Life. After reading some of his stuff and hearing him on YouTube, I'm really looking forward to starting the series.

Tons of great stuff from him as well as my new favorite preacher, Matt Chandler. www.thevillage.net - Especially check out his 3 part series on Men and Masculinity. That guy Robert that you live with may have a few CDs with that, if you want to go lofi.
[this is good]

Add to your exploding reading list: Imitation of Christ (Thomas a Kempis) and Spirit of the Disciplines (Dallas Willard). Put a lime in the coconut and call me in the morning. I'll give you more books later!

Don't Waste Your Life is a solid book. The study will really challenge your whole group. You should still check out the Desiring God stuff on the lines of Passions/Purpose/Desires/etc.

Just to confirm, though (ahem) - the Don't Waste Your Life study is AFTER the Soul Revolution study starting in February, right?? :)
